On the weekend I started my hardest '30 before 30' task. 'Oh wow, you tried to run up Mt Cootha' I hear you say? No......in my mind this task is MUCH harder.......
9. Have a shopping free month
I decided that the 1st of July would be a great time to kick off my one month of no shopping as I have a potential upcoming trip to the US in September that I need to save my $$ for. Unfortunately when I made this decision, I didn't realise the 1st of July was the next day!!!
Once the penny dropped, I started to feel a bit anxious. So this lead to a last minute (well, last hour really as it was 4pm on Saturday) shopping trip.
This is what I was able to buy in 10 minutes:
A nice little haul of jewels from Colette and
a neon lime jumper from Dotti.
Not a bad little spree for a grand total of $100!! The only problem is that I forgot that my Mum's birthday is on the 1st of August and I still haven't bought her anything......oooops!! So this is why I have put in a couple of exceptions into the 'No shopping' rules.
The only things I can buy are:
- Birthday gifts for Mum or Amber (who's birthday is the 11th August)
- Groceries
- Complete any eBay purchases that were entered into prior to the start of 'no shopping' month
- Entertainment costs (Movies, Beer, Tickets)
I swear in the past 2 days I have received some fabulous offers to online boutique sales (40% of House of Harlow, 2 Leona Edmiston dresses for $200, Urban Outfitters 75% summer sale). Someone up above is really trying to test me!!!
It's going to be a loooooooooooooooooong month :(
13. Run 10kms non-stop
Went for a run on Monday night and did just under 6kms. Not bad for my first non stop run in over 2 months!!
Went to pump last night, so I'm going to try hit the 6km mark tonight. Surely I will be able to run 10km's before Christmas???
